I had taken a human anatomy class to draw humans. I drew meat and bone, and that was fine, because it’s good exercise, but I had hoped to focus on portraits or whole bodies. The assignments were other than that, and these came of it. They are all conte’ crayon or pastel.
I was so under pressure my last year, seven years in total, and so wiped out, that the idea of human presence was something to be deconstructed, or allowed to fall apart. So these reflect that.
