I’ve had a few opportunities in my past to illustrate. Long ago, because of ptsd, I lived on a mountain side, hiding away from the world. I did have some help, counselors, and Voc Rehab of Idaho. I was invited to a women’s art therapy circle, and it was there I was recognized. My counselor paid for many materials for me, and another Idaho agency that helped the disabled women in VR publish children’s books. Had I known then, what I know now, things would have come out different, but it’s all a learning process.
So here are some images from the books I was asked to illustrate.
My daughter in law, A.J,writes children’s picture books and I’m hoping to work with her, but I need a lot of practice yet. I am in the process of arranging a disciplinary course to practice. My life has been very serious in nature, and so I’m hoping to lighten up, loosen up, and have some fun with animation and illustration. I like the fact I have the freedom to anthropomorphize the character of animals and other creatures.
